At Coldwater Electric Motor, we are committed to providing high-quality products and services. Due to the specialized nature of our business, all sales are final. However, we recognize that unique situations may arise, and we may, at our sole discretion, offer a refund or replacement on a case-by-case basis.
Non-Returnable Items
To maintain quality control and operational efficiency, the following items are not eligible for return or refund:
- Custom-built gearboxes and motors – Due to their made-to-order nature, all custom products are final sale.
- Repairs and re-repairs – Once a repair has been completed, it is final. Any additional repairs may incur extra costs.
- Perishable, hazardous, or flammable items – Products that are classified as hazardous materials, contain flammable liquids or gases, or are perishable cannot be returned.
Right of Rescission (Order Cancellation Window)
In accordance with Michigan law, customers may have a limited right to cancel certain transactions. If applicable, you may request an order cancellation within three (3) business days of purchase for orders exceeding $500, as required under Michigan law.
- To request a cancellation, you must submit a written notice via email to sales@coldwaterelectricmotor.com within the legally permitted rescission window.
- If your purchase does not qualify under Michigan’s right of rescission laws, cancellation requests are subject to our sole discretion.
- Once an order has been processed or shipped, it cannot be canceled.
Damaged or Defective Items
If your order arrives damaged or defective, please notify us within [X] hours of delivery and provide photos of the issue. We will review your claim and, if warranted, may offer a replacement or refund at our discretion.

- Return Shipping Costs – Customers are responsible for the cost of return shipping. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.
- Shipping Time – Depending on your location, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you may vary.
- Shipping Insurance & Tracking – If returning an expensive item, we strongly recommend using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We do not guarantee receipt of returned items.
